Lecturing Statistics for Sociologists I
"I absolutely loved this course, TA's, and instructor. This course showed me I want to go into data analytics and the instructor created the most positive learning environment. She is patient and extremely intelligent and a wonderful instructor. She answers every question thoroughly and with care. The class was always filled and everyone is extremely comfortable asking questions. The lab are extremely helpful and my TA does a beyond wonderful job helping out and running the labs."
"I am very impressed with how Anna is able to communicate and explain basic stats concepts to into students. I find that many intro courses are taught by very smart instructors, but they struggle to convey foundational content in a way that is understandable to students who do not have any prior experience. Anna is an effective teacher and also personable and supportive, motivating students to push their learning while making potentially intimidating material accessible."
"This has been one of my favorite classes at UW Madison because the professor displayed everything clearly and was great at explaining the material and answering questions. She also provided a comfortable environment for people to ask questions."
"I am not a math person. Or atleast never thought I was. But after this course I feel significantly more confident in my math skills and statistic skills. Anna did such a great job teaching the material and understand questions when our class was confused. I loved the homework and the applicable questions that challenged me to understand the material well. I can't imagine anyone would ever say they would take a statistics class again, but I would take this course again. It was fun, and helped me feel smart and capable to do statistic problems!"
"I really enjoyed this course. At first, I was hesitant to join my first statistics course, but immediately Professor Milewski made me feel relaxed and ready to learn. She was patient and taught the class at a great pace. I feel like I got a really good understanding of the course material and feel confident I can use this knowledge in my career."
TAing Statistics for Sociologists I
"I genuinely would not understand Soc 360 if it weren't for Anna. She is an amazing teacher and has made me enjoy this class because I am actually able to understand it when she explains the material. Anna is the best TA I've had at UW Madison."
"I LOVED Anna!! She was so helpful during every discussion. She did a good job at remembering names and just making you feel more valued. She did a great job explaining difficult concepts and even sometimes went over them more than once so it was better to understand."
"Anna is probably the best TA i have ever had she was so understanding and always a listening ear for my frustration or struggles throughout the course. Going into a traditionally difficult course, I was nervous about how it would go but I am so thankful I had a support system like Anna, being so relatable and offering help at any point. She would continuously help me during lab and when I attended office hours she took the time to ensure I understood the material. As a result of this, I did increasingly better on assignments and the first exam. Anna in a TA position is so appreciated for her patience and overall being on top of it this semester."
TAing Sociology of Race and Ethnicity:
"I really enjoyed having Anna as a TA. She is very well versed in the material and it shows. She always came to discussion prepared with activities for us, and led insightful discussions. She made sure that we applied the readings and lecture to real life as well. She is very understanding and accommodating to students."
"Anna did a great job structuring our discussions in a way that effectively used the 45 minutes we had for each discussion section. She was very welcoming and always open to questions, which made it easy for students to become engaged and passionate about the course."
"I thought that my TA was incredible. I always left discussion section with a much deeper understanding of the content. Additionally, my TA was well prepared, patient, and responsive. I think she really made this course enjoyable, and helped me to access to material."
